Dear star gazers,
The ATT (Astronomy and Technology Meeting) is a trade fair especially for amateur astronomers, the largest event of its kind in Europe. After we had to cancel the ATT in 2020 due to Corona, we are planning a digital version on the internet for this year. Even though an online fair will never be able to replace a face-to-face event, we want to try to transfer as much live character as possible into the ATT 2021 digital on 8 May 2021 from 10 am - 5 pm.
Thus, in addition to a programme of live expert presentations and on-demand videos, there will also be a discussion round on the topic of light pollution. Exhibitors will present themselves on virtual exhibition stands and private individuals can offer their old astro-treasures on a marketplace. Even live solar observation, as visitors know it from the analogue ATT, will be possible.
Since January, a planning team has been working on the realisation of the event, which also includes well-known and long-standing ATT exhibitors, among them the astro dealers Baader and Bresser, the Association of Astronomical Friends (VdS) and the Spektrum publishing house. Together, we are pursuing the goal of once again bringing all visitors closer to the current trends, latest products and selected topics in astronomy. To this end, renowned speakers such as Dr Andreas Müller, Christoph Kaltseis, Gernot Meiser, Benjamin Stöwe, Jon Larsen, Daniel Fischer, Dr Andreas Hänel, Dr Detlef Koschny, Frank Sackenheim, Daniel Nimmervoll, Markus Paul and Tim Ruster have already confirmed their active participation in ATT 2021 digital.
So stay tuned! We are sure that you will once again take home lots of ideas and inspiration for your exciting hobby. Join and convince yourself - see you at ATT 2021 digital (#att2021digital)!
